makes no assumptions.
George Jovanovic, Maccabi Tel Aviv striker who arrived in Israel about six months ago and became one of the biggest stars in the country, was interviewed yesterday (Tuesday) in Serbia and was asked, among other things, about the relationship of forces between Red Star Belgrade and Maccabi Haifa.
"Prediction for the match? I don't know what will happen, but I think that the Red Star is the favorite against Maccabi Haifa, at least in the second leg, and they will knock them out," said the striker, who added about the Serbian team: "They are better, more experienced and ready. They will be part of the Champions League ".
On the balance of power between the Greens and his team, Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Serbian said: "Yes, they are currently the best team in Israel, but last season they took a point from us in extra time and we beat them away 1:3. We are no less quality than the Red Star."

He continued to tell about Haifa: "They are very offensive, ready to take risks. Azili and Haziza are very dangerous and although the former has not been at his best in recent games, he has a great influence on the team. Piero is also excellent."
On the atmosphere at Sami Ofer: "It will be very hot, the audience sits close to the grass, but with all due respect, the star is already used to it and it really shouldn't scare her."
Jovanovic was of course also asked about Maccabi Tel Aviv, who will play in the Conference League playoffs against Nice: "Anything can happen, so far everything has worked for us. Why don't we also go through the game in France? Personally, I'm happy that I came to Israel and this season I expect to improve my numbers." .
At the end, the striker said about his new partner in the attack, Eran Zahavi: "He is a serious player, a wonderful person and gave me good advice. We understand each other, I hope we both score a lot of goals and help the team succeed."
