A day after the country's president Yitzhak Herzog spoke with the medalists at the European Championships in Munich, the president did it again, and today (Wednesday) also called the European champion in swimming, Anastasia Gorbenko.
"I'm calling to tell you how larger than life you are," the president began his words.
"Well done to you, you bring us such happiness and respect, all thanks to yourself and your abilities. Lots of luck and we all hug you."
Herzog asked Gorbenko how she felt, and she answered: "I'm really glad I did it again, and I managed to keep the place. The most fun is hearing the hope in a new country."
This is not the first time that the president has called the swimmers, having done so after the World Championship.
