Thomas Müller's toe and the video referee prevent Sadio Mané's home debut goal.
Müller himself can hardly believe it.
Munich - Second game, second win in the Bundesliga!
FC Bayern Munich showed a sovereign performance in a 2-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg at the weekend.
Jamal Musiala, who is currently playing well, laid the foundation for victory with his opening goal in the 33rd minute, Thomas Müller extended the lead again just before the break (44th minute).
The victory of the Reds, which was never in jeopardy, could have been higher.
Twice an offside decision prevented Sadio Mané's home debut goal in the Allianz Arena.
In the 20th minute, the new superstar in the Bayern squad was clearly closer to goal than the last defender of the Wolves after a cross pass from Serge Gnabry.
The scene in the 73rd minute, on the other hand, was much trickier.
Müller shows understanding for video referee: "Everything okay"
Joshua Kimmich plays a corner from the right side to Leroy Sané, who is lurking just outside the penalty area, and who puts the cross directly on goal.
The bouncer ends up with Müller, who unselfishly passes his head to Mané again - goal for Bayern!
It would have been the decision.
But Mané's joy at his header was short-lived.
Referee Harm Osmers signals that the goal must be checked by the video referee (VAR).
To the displeasure of the Bayern fans, however, the goal check drags on for minutes.
"The players and the linesman all thought it was a clear number, but I saw someone across it.
Of course a lot of people are complaining again why it's taking so long.
But then you want to make the right decision, especially when it comes to scoring a goal.
Everything okay, ”Müller shows understandingly at the
DAZN
microphone after the end of the game.
Müller on VAR decision: "What, I'm offside there?"
In fact, there is only certainty after almost three minutes.
With a tip of his foot, Müller was offside when he passed the ball to Mané.
Hard to believe for Müller!
"What, am I offside?
You don't believe that yourself," says Müller, smiling in amazement when he can
watch the scene again during the
DAZN interview.
"The body is completely behind it and points in the other direction."
But even without the assist, Müller once again proved his worth to the team.
He initiated the Musiala goal, which is well worth seeing, the 2-0 is a typical Müller goal when he decisively steers a shot from Kimmich into the opposing goal at the last second.
After two league games, the 32-year-old is back on three points (one goal, two assists) - it's not for nothing that the question was recently asked whether he might be the most underestimated player in the league.
In any case, with his appearance against Wolfsburg he left an absolute football legend behind.
