The league match between Bnei Sakhnin and Maccabi Haifa, which was supposed to be played this Saturday, will be postponed to an unknown date.
The reason: Sakhnin folded today (Thursday) after heavy pressure exerted on her by the league director and the Greens.
At first, Sakhnin objected to the postponement, but talks between the parties from the morning hours made the team's management understand that this was a fatal blow not only to Haifa, but to Israeli football.
The chairman of the administration, Erez Kalfon, suggested again to look into an alternative date, and Sakhnin agreed. As of this moment, there is no alternative date for the match. This means that Haifa will be able to prepare for the return match against Red Star Belgrade next Tuesday in Serbia.
After the game, and still according to the postponement, Barak Becher commented on the saga: "There are 6 more days until the rematch and unfortunately we have a game that is stuck in the middle. We will have to gather strength for the rematch, for the most important game of the club in recent years, also of Israeli football."
