Heptathlete Carolin Schäfer finished sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Munich and thus achieved her personal goal.
The 30-year-old from Frankfurt had set a goal of being among the top six athletes.
Four years ago in Berlin, Schäfer finished third, and in 2017 she was even second in the World Cup.
She canceled the last World Cup in July due to a lack of training.
After the final 800-meter run on Thursday, Schäfer scored 6223 points.
Olympic champion and world champion Nafissatou Thiam from Belgium won her next title with 6628 points.
Adrianna Sulek from Poland took silver, bronze went to Annik Kälin from Switzerland.
The second German starter, Sophie Weißenberg, was in fifth place after throwing the javelin and dropped out on Thursday.
According to the German Athletics Association, the 24-year-old from Bayer Leverkusen, who was already ailing on the first day, suffered from cold and exhaustion symptoms.
