Paralympic canoeist Iran Shapir finished fourth today (Wednesday) in the finals of the European Championships being held in Munich, after finishing the 200 meter race in a time of 1:20.885 minutes.
Shapir, who suffered like all the other competitors from a jump that was accompanied by rain, said at the end: "There was a little difficulty in the jump.
I have something to improve and continue to gain experience that will lead to improved results in the following competitions.'
Talia Eilat, who also competes in the individual canoe, came in fifth place in the final with a time of 1:07.976 minutes.
Vitaly Drozd, the coach, said: "Talia is a lion."
I am very pleased with her result.
As Talia did today, she never did that on the Yarkon.
All the best to her."
Both rowers are members of Beit HaLochem Tel Aviv, and train at the Daniel Rowing Center with Drozd.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Adi Ezra from the Jordan Valley Club will compete in the semi-finals for 200 meters in kayak.
