The storm had caused an interruption on Thursday evening.

Remarkable: The Munich sports fans are not deterred by the decent weather change at the European Championships.
Thousands came to the Olympic Stadium to cheer on the track and field athletes this Thursday evening - despite all the wet seats.
Many of them must have been in the car or on the U3 on their way to Oberwiesenfeld when the storm hit Munich.
The heavy rain in the Bavarian capital had caused an interruption, which is why the competitions were postponed by almost half an hour.
But now the program is on - with plenty of applause from the well-staffed stands at the historic sports facility.
It's still raining at the moment.

The athletics competitions of the European Championships started 25 minutes late on Thursday evening in the Olympic Stadium.
First, the semi-finals went over the men's 200m on the tartan track.
Just under an hour earlier, a storm with heavy rain had interrupted the event on the Oberwiesenfeld.
The Olympic Stadium had to be cleared without further ado, the sports fans were asked to go under the roof of the Olympic Park - for example at the Olympic swimming pool from 1972. Now it's going on after all - and the wet ground hasn't caused any problems so far.

Munich – The sharp change in the weather on Thursday evening (August 18) also hit the European Championships in the Olympic Park.
The European Athletics Championships in Munich were interrupted shortly after 7.30 p.m. on the evening of the final by long jump Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo.
European Championships: Downpour in the Olympic Stadium - event suspended
The reason was a severe weather warning and a sudden onset of heavy rain.
The spectators tried to escape the heavy rain shower and, at the request of the organizers, were to stay in the covered area of the Olympic Stadium.
The competitions could not start at 8:05 p.m. as planned, but were initially postponed to 8:30 p.m.

After the heavy rain had stopped, helpers came with wheeled brooms to clear the tartan track of the water again.
A lot of work was also done around the sand bed for the long jump.
From a German point of view, the highlight of the evening should be the decision with Mihambo.
A few weeks after successfully defending her world championship title, she wants to repeat the 2018 European Championship victory in Munich.

European Championships: Long jump and high jump are planned for the Munich Olympic Stadium
The beach volleyball games on Königsplatz in the city center were also interrupted due to the heavy rain.
In addition to the women's long jump final, the men's high jump final and the men's hammer throw final are planned for the evening at the Olympic Stadium in Oberwiesenfeld.
The women's 5000m final and several sprinter semi-finals are also on the agenda.
As in the days before, the organizers had sold thousands of tickets for the evening competitions.
