Prediction of the Premier League commentators Sport1 (Sport1)

Hanan Maman will open a new season tonight (Saturday) after major upheavals he went through last season and in an exclusive interview with Voula!

Sport, he talks about everything: Tamir Glazer ("We're already laughing about it"), Omer Atzili ("One of my best friends"), moving to the Acre Stadium ("We are Hapoel Haifa, not Acre"), the bad start in the Toto Cup (" Things got out of proportion") and last season's derby ("a stain for all of us").

Hanan, was the last season the hardest season of your career?

"It was a difficult year, not related to football. Of course there is the personal family matter and there was also the injury matter. A very difficult year."

Did it affect football?

"Even if I say it's not, it would be inaccurate because it certainly had an impact. I don't excuse anything that happened because of it, and even in this difficult year personally, I managed to pick myself up in part of the season and showed what I know, but it wasn't enough and in the end the team didn't succeed, so I I did not make it".

"Nothing that happened is excusable."

So you define your season as a failure?

On the personal side, you were really excellent for some of the time.

"Not great, but I was fine, but if the team doesn't do well, I don't care if I was good because we all failed and had a season that was less than we expected."

What happened to you?

You started the season in such a way that fans were already fantasizing about a championship.

"(Laughs), it's funny to say that. But if we get serious then there were many things, there were also many injuries that stopped us."

Was the whole group based on Alon Turgeman?

"No, because there were other injuries. It was me and Torji and Serdal and Fedida and Toure and Ozhbolt. Everyone who was very significant in their position at the beginning of the year, so when it started to fall apart a little, then the deterrence decreased and the results were not good - and then the confidence also decreased."

Could it be that the derby in which you were defeated was actually a knockout for the season?

"Yes, of course it was like that. It was a stain for all of us. For our audience and it was difficult for us to overcome it both in front of ourselves and in front of our audience. We had an opportunity in the cup to fix it and we missed it too."

After the injury you had tubes and blood drains, how scared were you in those moments?

"I wasn't afraid, but it was uncomfortable and unpleasant."

But just before such an operation, were you worried?

"I felt so bad that night that I didn't care what they did, as long as they did something to stop it. I wasn't afraid after that, I was just a little bit afraid before that."

What is it like to be in the dressing room now with Tamir Glazer?

"They're already laughing about it. He didn't mean to do it, he's a great kid and he's a good player. I think he's a very good and important signing for us."

They talked last summer about preparation like never before in Hapoel Haifa and then the Toto Cup came and everyone is already crowning you as the underdogs.

"Things got blown out of proportion. It's true that foreigners and Israelis signed quickly and we were among the first to be ready, but we haven't connected in the meantime in the preparation. Despite this, there are things that we do take with us and there are players that you can trust and I hope that they will prove to everyone that they were wrong in their quick judgment. Today seems to be starting the real thing".

From your experience, and from what you see from the group - do you really believe?

"It's hard to know. It's a matter of momentum, at the beginning of the year teams are not yet connected and you can win and gain confidence. It's a matter of the first-second round. We're playing at home against Hapoel Tel Aviv, a good atmosphere at the best time there is and it will be good."

You played in Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, abroad, but specifically in Maccabi Haifa where your father is a huge symbol, you were never counted out.

Does this bother you?

"No. I don't think about things that happened, why what and how. Everyone has their own path and destiny and if it didn't happen it shouldn't have happened. I used to think about it from my father's direction and that if I was there it would only be because of him and closing a circle But today I actually think that this is what my career needed."

Did you believe as a child that Baruch Maman's son would be the symbol of Hapoel Haifa?

"I don't know if they consider me a symbol, but if someone thinks I'm a symbol of Hapoel Haifa, then I did my part and I'm happy about it. There is nothing that makes me happier than being in Hapoel Haifa and that the fans love me."

"If someone thinks I'm a symbol of Hapoel Haifa, then I did my part."

And if you're blessed, he always claims that if you were like him in character you'd be the number one player in the country, are you really too "comfortable"?

"Yes, I'm comfortable. You can't change my character and I am who I am, I'm loyal to my path and it's a more pleasant, more beautiful path and I like it in me and don't regret it. Then I was in a better place and maybe abroad for more years but I don't Sorry for nothing, happy for the path I took and it's not close to being over yet."

What are the goals this season?

"I really hope we get together and make the top playoffs, that was the goal and despite the Toto Cup it's still the goal."

When you didn't do well last year, it seemed like you didn't have a leader, Do you agree with the claim that you are not a leader?

"I am not looking for the title and to be called a leader, those who know me closely know what I am, players who play with me know that they can trust me with their eyes closed.

I'm not one to shout and throw tantrums,

How do you get the crowd to come in the same numbers as it did for the cup derby?

"You have to run up the whole season, I believe there is no reason why a crowd as large as Maccabi Netanya will not come. We always play well in parts of the season, and then precisely when the crowd comes and votes with their feet, we suddenly don't look good and it lowers the mood."

"He's a modest guy, but those who really know him know that he's a killer and he's not a sucker."

So maybe Sami Ofer doesn't suit you.

"But there is no other pitch."

They say you might play in Acre and that's better.

"But this is in Acre, we play in Haifa. We are Hapoel Haifa not Hapoel Acre."

You are one of Omar Atzili's best friends, how do you explain that despite all the scandal surrounding him, he managed to have such a season last season?

"It is true that Omer is in Maccabi Haifa, but he is one of my best friends and we also live next to each other now. Omer is a charm of a guy, he is a humble guy, but those who know him really know that he is a killer and he is not a sucker. He comes to the game and he does not see eye to eye. He He improved his game a lot, I was even a little pleasantly surprised at how great he is. He will give even more, I'm sure of it, he is one of the greatest in the country without a doubt."

It seems that the league got stronger this season.

"You see it in Israelis in Europe. Teams have brought back good players and foreigners, it seems that teams have built themselves properly and there will be a strong season. What is happening with the representation in Europe is excellent for our league."

Are you still dreaming of a national team or are you no longer at your age?

"You also have to be realistic. I wish I was in the national team and I always dream, but I'm real with myself. If that happens, I'll be the happiest in the world."
