In a race grouped up to 300 meters from the finish, the Frenchwoman placed herself in 4th position before drawing in the last corner.
A little too late for the title because Hodgkinson had already taken a lead, but Lamote managed to come back to another Briton, Jemma Reekie, to steal second position from her in the home straight.
