European Championships: the French relay resists and takes bronze in the 4x400m

Perfectly positioned throughout the race to get on the podium, the French torchbearers resisted until the end to take the lead.


The second tricolor medal of the evening is in the pockets of four men.

Saturday in Munich, the French team in the 4x400m relay managed to climb to the third step of the podium of the European championships in a contested race until the final straight, which saw Great Britain win in front of the Belgium of the Borlée brothers.

Gilles Biron, Loïc Prevot, Téo Andant and Thomas Jordier thus brought a 7th medal to the French delegation at the end of a race in which they have always been in contact with the best.

Gilles Biron started the tricolor relay within the pack by passing the baton to Loïc Prevot in 5th position, before the latter fell back to 3rd position.

After a round of the track smoothly led, the Frenchman was able to keep this place to deliver the baton to Téo Andant who was able to resist Kévin Borlée.

It all came down to the final 400m.

Thomas Jordier picked up the witness in second position, sandwiched between the Briton and the Belgian.

Second for a long time, the Frenchman saw the Belgian overtake him in the last meters before the finish line.
