What if Slimani returned to Ligue 1, more specifically to Stade Brestois 29?
An agreement has been reached between the top scorer in the history of the Algerian selection - 88 caps, 41 goals - and the Finistère club, according to the Foot Mercato site.
Last winter, Slimani was transferred from OL to Sporting Portugal, with a record in Lyon of 11 goals in 37 games.
At Sporting, the Algerian has scored four times in 12 games in all competitions.
This season, he is no longer part of the plans of coach Ruben Amorim.
So the Portuguese club released him from his last year of contract.
Slimani's reference period in Ligue 1 remains his time in Monaco where, associated with Wissam Ben Yedder, he did a lot of damage: 9 goals and 8 assists in 18 games during the 2019-2020 season.
In Brest, the club and the player would have agreed on the basis of a two-year contract.
But although an agreement exists, Slimani remains attentive to any offer that may arise, according to Foot Mercato.
So far, Olympiakos has looked into the Slimani case, whose name also circulated in Nice, at the same time as that of Edison Cavani.

The presence in Brest of two compatriots and teammates in the selection, Youcef Belaïli and Haris Belkebla could encourage the striker to opt for the Breton club.
The latter, for his part, has followed other leads, such as those of Hwang Ui-jo (Bordeaux) and Ignatius Ganago (Lens), but the Fennecs striker remains, it seems, his priority.
For the record, Slimani, in the Lyon jersey, scored against Brest at Groupama Stadium on the first day (1-1) last season, a little over a year ago.
