Regulars Josha Vagnoman and Dinos Mavropanos are ailing
VfB Stuttgart may have to do without two top performers.
Josha Vagnoman, who was substituted against Bremen after suffering a thigh cramp, is unlikely to return to team training until Thursday (18 August).
It is not certain whether it will be enough for him for the game against Freiburg.
The same applies to Dinos Mavropanos, who has a build-up of fluid in the hollow of his knee and has not been able to train so far.
Nevertheless, Coach Matarazzo cautiously gave the all-clear at the press conference: "We assume that it will work".
Borna Sosa apparently returns to the starting XI of VfB Stuttgart against SC Freiburg
At VfB, Borna Sosa should return to the starting XI after a long period of suffering.
The left-back has been struggling with adductor problems for months.
In addition, Silas, who scored against SV Werder Bremen (2-2) and is currently being lured by VfB with a possible salary increase, will probably be up front from the start.
