The second section in the Spanish Valletta presented the Israeli fans with a rare and amazing picture: the Israel Premier Tech team, including Mike Woods and Chris Froome, worked entirely for its young rider Itamar Einhorn, who finished the section in seventh place.
Einhorn, for whom this is the second Grand Tour of his career after already riding last season in Valletta, enjoyed the work of the "rider train" for him and towards the end he tried to attack, but saw the mighty Sam Bennett of the Bora team finish first in a time of 3:49.34 hours in the section that opened in Utrecht, Holland.
Premier Tech arrived in Valletta with a very strong lineup, and meanwhile - unlike the initial lineup for the Tour de France - did not suffer from riders who were infected or exposed to Covid, but were hit from another direction.
Premier Tech's outstanding South African rider Daryl Impey, who contracted Covid before the Tour, was involved in a crash yesterday and required medical attention at the end of the section.
Mike Tonnisen from Yambo Wisma team holds the red leader's jersey and tomorrow he will start the third and last section in the Netherlands which will be held in the city of Breda (193.5 km).
