After a two-day postponement due to stormy weather conditions, the European Open Water Championships finally got under way today (Saturday) in Ostia near Rome.
Two Israeli swimmers, and two male swimmers jumped into the water for the 5 km swim and the one who recorded the best result was Eva Fabian, who finished in 14th place, with a time of 58:21.3 minutes.
This is Ava's best achievement at the European Championships in her career, and now her focus shifts to tomorrow for the Olympic distance swim for 10 km, in which Matan Roditi will also take part in the men's race.
In the same race, Orin Gavlan finished in 20th place with 1:02:26.7 hours.
Ziv Cohen recorded a good performance in his class debut when he finished 16th with 56:35.1 minutes, Yonatan Ahadot came one place and two seconds behind him.
