Kevin Durant is training for the start of the season (from Twitter)
Since Kevin Durant demanded that the Brooklyn Nets trade him, three teams, all from the East, have expressed interest in making a deal.
After the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors became the leading candidates, today (Monday) Shams Charania reports that a new team has joined the race, and it actually comes from the West - the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis has the option of including five future first-round draft picks for the veteran forward, and has a number of promising young players on the roster that could intrigue the Nets.
However, the Grizzlies are reluctant to offer the two supporting stars alongside Jay Murant - Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bain - as part of the deal, but prefer to offer a package whose main part is the picks.
A team that has already tried its luck and submitted an offer to Brooklyn is Trae Young's Atlanta.
The Hawks offered the Nets John Collins, DeAndre Hunter and several draft picks, the Nets did not agree.

Another player who may change teams even before the start of the season is Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz star.
The team from Salt Lake City recently renewed talks with the leading suitor, the New York Knicks, but the team from the Big Apple has still not been able to meet the requirements to execute the deal.
According to Charania's report, the Knicks recently offered a package that includes Evan Fournier, Obi Taupin, additional players to fill the salary gap and five future first-round draft picks (two of which are unprotected).
This offer also did not satisfy the Jazz, who refused.
