The internal sanctioning regime of the club allows the temporary or definitive expulsion of those involved, if they are members or subscribers, and the prohibition of entry to the venue if they were mere fans

Atlético de Madrid has launched an internal investigation after the incidents that occurred between player Mario Hermoso and Atletico fans at the end of the match with Villarreal (0-2).

If the investigations opened by the club identify the author or authors of the insults to Hermoso and Antoine Griezmann, the internal sanctioning regime will be applied to them, which ranges from a temporary expulsion to a permanent one, if they are members or subscribers, or to the prohibition to enter the Metropolitan if they are not part of the social mass registered by the entity.

The first information handled by Atlético from the private security of the stadium suggests that it would have been only one person who inferred the insults, but they do not rule out that more individuals can be identified in viewing the images.

As usual, when Atlético does not have a training session the day after the matches, the substitutes went out to exercise together with the physical trainers at the end of the match.

The exercises were carried out in the goal next to the south end, where the animation stands and the rojiblancos ultras are located.

There were still fans there who had stayed to rebuke Gerard Moreno's celebration after scoring the second goal, in which he addressed a camera and stuck out his tongue with his hands on his ears.

The celebration, taken by a provocation by part of the rojiblanca fans, is usual in Gerard Moreno as explained by the international striker.

The arbitration report states that “after Villarreal CF scored the second goal in minute 90+7,

Under that still warm atmosphere, the Atlético players began their post-match training.

Soon after, according to sources from the club and Mario Hermoso's entourage, insults were heard against Antoinne Griezmann, which provoked the Madrid central defender's reaction.

"Not like that, not like that," reproached Hermoso.

This was also insulted and it was the moment in which he went towards the ultras and tried to climb into the stands.

The intervention of members of the club's security forces, members of the coaching staff and captain José María Giménez and Geoffrey Kondogbia prevented Hermoso from reaching the stands.

At that moment, a fan threw a bottle of water that passed close to the Central African midfielder.

LaLiga has also taken action on the matter and will follow the usual procedure at the end of each day.

The insults to Gerard Moreno and the throwing of objects will be denounced before the Anti-Violence Commission, the body that proposes the sanctions.

Regarding the altercation of Mario Hermoso, LaLiga ensures that it will be analyzed in more detail before deciding if he also denounces it.

This incident has once again highlighted whether clubs are doing enough to crack down on their violent fans, but also whether the system and bureaucracy are effective.

With the law in hand, they can only prevent entry to their stadium to individuals who have already received a sanction proposal from the Anti-Violence Commission, from the Government Delegation or who have been notified by the Police of some type of action that discourage your access.

Sources from the mattress entity report that participants in the tumultuous brawl between Atletico ultras from the Athletic Front and the Riazor Blues resulted in the death of the Deportivo ultra, Francisco Javier Romero Taboada, alias

Jimmy

, they were prohibited from entering and that they have won in court that they can access the stadium by not having been convicted or sanctioned.

Last March, ultras from the Atlético Front went to Valdebebas for a Youth League match and uttered racist insults against the young Madridistas Peter and Marvel.

Four months later, the rojiblanco club still does not have in its possession the identification of those who insulted or the sanction proposals of the Anti-Violence Commission.
