taking off.
Starting tomorrow (Tuesday), Israel will host for the first time the 47th World Youth Track Cycling Championship for 2022, at the Sylvan Adams National Velodrome in Tel Aviv. About 300 male and female riders up to the age of 18 from 40 countries and five continents around the world will participate in the event.
The championship will be held as part of the initiative of the cycling association and the philanthropist Sylvan Adams to turn the track cycling branch, in which 36 medals are awarded in the Olympic Games, into a leading sport in Israel.
The championship will be produced by Comtech Group, which together with Adams is responsible for bringing to Israel the largest sports and leisure events in the world, among them: the French Super Cup, the Giro d'Italia, the Eurosket, the European Championship and the Grand Slam Judo competition, the unforgettable match between Argentina and Uruguay and the IRONMAN competition in Tiberias.
The Israeli team in the championship will be led by Uri Besh-Dubinsky from the TACC club, who won a medal last month in the European championship for girls, and Oron Argov, the Israeli youth champion from the Masters Haifa club.
Along with them, Naa Schwicki, Heli Biderman and Uri Behari (all from the IGP club) are also expected to participate.
