Kirchheimer SC climbs third place - "First it's about the 40 points"

Kirchheimer SC continues to develop into the top team in the regional league south-east.

Kirchheim – The deserved 1-0 (0-0) win in the regional derby at TSV Brunnthal was the fifth win in seven games and the fourth threesome abroad.

And now the Kirchheimer are even number three in the state league table - tied with the top teams Landshut and Forstinning.

No national league team likes to play in Brunnthal because there is an atmosphere there and the hosts are very compact defensively.

Brunnthal is already deep in the relegation battle, which made the task quite complicated.

In the first half, Kirchheim played almost the entire 45 minutes for a goal, but didn't really have a clear chance.

The game was as tough as expected.

KSC's best chance was missed by Sandro Cazorla, who narrowly missed the ball after a Müller header.

After the break, the Brunnthaler took part in the game more, but a Kirchheim lead would have been deserved overall.

This was due to a standard situation and a bit of luck: Niklas Karlin kicked the corner, which was extended out of the turmoil - and Luca Mauerer heaved the round into the corner at the edge of the penalty area.

The low shot became even more treacherous on the rain-soaked ground (59').

The KSC had been working towards this moment for an hour.

In the last half hour, the Brunnthalers became more active, but they didn't really cause problems for the KSC.

Kirchheim was compact and brought home their fourth win in their fifth away game.

Those are also qualities of a top team.

Nevertheless, KSC trainer Steven Toy is still holding back expectations that are skyrocketing: "First it's about the 40 points for staying up.

If we have that, then everyone can dream for themselves.” But Toy also knows exactly that the 15 points after seven games are a real statement.
