The long saga of the NBA offseason has apparently come to an end.
The Brooklyn Nets announced this evening (Tuesday) that they have reached an agreement with Kevin Durant about continuing his journey with the team, this after he demanded during the summer to be traded after three rather disappointing years in the Big Apple.
The statement was signed by the team's general manager, Sean Marks, and it read: "Coach Steve Nash and I met together with owner Joe Tsai and his wife, Kevin Durant and agent Rich Kleiman yesterday in Los Angeles. We have decided to move forward together In sharing our Afula. We focus on basketball with one common goal - to build a team that will bring a championship to Brooklyn."
As mentioned, Durant asked during the offseason to leave the Nets in a trade, and then, in a personal meeting with the owner Tsai, set as a condition for his stay the dismissal of Nash and Marks.
The Nets did not receive the offers they expected to receive from other teams for the veteran forward, who signed with the team for the next four years.
