Benedikt Doll has canceled the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding.
He was tied at home - for a happy reason.
Ruhpolding - On the last weekend of August 2022, the Biathlon World Championships will take place in Ruhpolding.
At the summer event in the Chiemgau winter sports stronghold, the athletes can test their early form.
A world title at high temperatures is not the ultimate goal of a career, but it is a good indicator and test for the coming winter season.
Weaknesses and strengths are revealed again - however, Benedikt Doll cannot participate.
As the athlete announced via video message, he canceled the World Cup, but for a good reason.
“The Summer World Championships in Ruhpolding will take place without me.
As you have noticed, I have had offspring.
That takes energy and time,” says the biathlete, who showed a funny picture of his “company car” in 2021.
The 32-year-old has become a father for the first time.
"The training comes last, I can't leave home and like to use the time with my wife and child.
I try to keep fit and train as much as possible.
I wish the other Germans every success at the World Cup,” said Doll, who showed a cute picture of himself and his child.

Born in Titisee-Neustadt, he has been married since 2019 and would now like to focus on fresh happiness.
He does not yet know whether he will take part in the German championships next week: "Maybe it will work out next week, we will see."

Franzi Preuss, who just recently presented nice insights into her new wooden house with ex-biathlete Simon Schempp, is also not participating in the World Championships.
Justus Strelow, Johannes Kühn, Philipp Horn, Philipp Nawrath, Lucas Fratzscher, Roman Rees and David Zobel start for the men.
Denise Herrmann, Vanessa Voigt, Vanessa Hinz, Janina Hettich, Franziska Hildebrand, Marion Wiesensarter, Juliane Frühwirt and Anna Weidel are on the trail for the women.
