According to media reports, Audi and Porsche will be part of Formula 1 from 2026.
The details of how to get started.
Spa-Francorchamps - The impasse is over: The car manufacturers Audi and Porsche will probably soon be involved in Formula 1.
According to information from
Sky
and other media, the double entry is fixed.
At Audi, however, things should go faster.
A press conference with FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem and Audi representatives is already planned for Friday (August 26) as part of the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa, at which the entry of the German VW subsidiary from 2026 is to be announced.
Porsche's entry is also "a done deal", but the date of publication has not yet been set.
Formula 1: Audi and Porsche will be there soon - in different roles
Both Audi and Porsche are planning a partnership with one of the ten teams in Formula 1. According to media reports, Audi wants to become an engine supplier for the Swiss Sauber team, which has competed under the name Alfa Romeo since 2019.
Porsche, on the other hand, apparently wants to enter into a partnership with Red Bull and buy 50 percent of the chassis factory.
The news comes as no surprise.
The planned prompt announcement could have one reason above all: In the scene it is assumed that one wants to quickly provide facts in order to prevent the new VW boss Oliver Blume from changing his mind and not two VW brands against each other wants to compete.
Formula 1: Green light for Audi and Porsche due to new engine regulations
Last week, the FIA passed the new engine regulations - the last possible hurdle for the entry of the two German brands.
In the future, Germany will be represented with even more engineering power in the premier class of motorsport.
Mercedes faces competition from their own country.
In contrast, the German influence will decrease in the field of drivers.
Sebastian Vettel will end his career at the end of the season, Mick Schumacher is still worried about his cockpit for next season.
In turn, it is possible that Formula 1 will soon hold a race in Germany again: the French GP has been removed from the calendar.
