Maccabi Haifa players react to the Champions League draw (Editor: Lear Spiegel)

Even before the draw for the group stage of the Champions League, Omar Atzili and Dolev Haziza fantasized about a meeting with Leo Messi.

Haziza asked for a "house of death", Azili begged "Bring Messi, I will 'kill myself' on him" - and in the end the Maccabi Haifa players got what they wanted, and their reaction went viral around the world.

A few minutes after the draw, the two uploaded a joint photo on Instagram in which they tagged Leo Messi and Neymar and tried to "reserve" their shirts for themselves at the end of the match against Paris Saint-Germain, the exact date of which is still unknown.

"T shirt to us please", the two wrote, and deleted after they realized how much resonance the post was creating.

In the Italian "Tutomarketo" they noted the "crazy Maccabi Haifa players" who asked for an "extraordinary request", and wondered: "How are Messi and Neymar supposed to take them seriously now?".

France and Italy also reported in an amused tone on Azili and Haziza's request.

As mentioned, Atzili and Haziza all in all got what they wanted.

"Who do I want to meet? Bring me Messi and I'll 'suicide' him there," Atzili said after qualifying.

"We don't expect to keep giving fourths against the lions of Europe, but we come to play our football, attacking football. We always come to the game and believe that we can win."

Haziza said before the draw: "I want a house of death, to receive Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Dortmund maybe. I want Messi and Neymar to return to Israel."
