Overflows had taken place last year during Nice-OM. The authorities want to avoid them this season. OM will have to go to Nice without sup

If the news was expected on the Old Port, it is now official.

This Friday, the authorities published a prefectural and ministerial decree prohibiting Marseille supporters from traveling to Nice lands to attend the match between the two southern teams.

On behalf of the 4th day of Ligue 1, OGC Nice receives OM this Sunday at 3 p.m.

Marseille, still undefeated, is having a good start to the season, while the people of Nice have not yet tasted victory.

But this meeting will take place without Marseille supporters, "frequently a source of public order disturbances", explained the Ministry, which also qualifies Aiglons supporters as "frequently adopting violent behavior".

The decree, signed by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, specifies that "the individual or collective movement, by any means, of any person claiming to be a supporter of the Olympique de Marseille club or behaving as such is prohibited between the municipalities of Bouches-du-Rhône and the municipality of Nice, Sunday August 28 from midnight to midnight.

It must be said that there are antecedents between the Nice and Marseille supporters.

Last season, at the same time of year, on August 22, 2021, the Allianz Riviera was the scene of a major incident, to launch a complicated season in the stands.

Remember.

Fifteen minutes from the end of the meeting, Dimitri Payet received a plastic bottle of water, then sent it back to the stands.

A gesture which did not fail to provoke the supporters of OGC Nice, then venturing into an invasion of the field.

The match had been interrupted definitively, then replayed in Troyes.

The Nice club had also been sanctioned by a withdrawal of two points, one of which was suspended, and three games behind closed doors.

Sunday, it is therefore the Ultras from Nice who will be able to encourage their team in the parking lot, their usual stand being closed for the second consecutive time, a sanction which follows insulting songs towards the memory of the former Nantes player Emiliano Sala.

Marseille supporters will have to make do with their sofa to cheer on OM on Sunday.
