David Schumacher was the victim of a police blunder.

Michael Schumacher's nephew received an illegal ticket.

Cologne - A piece of paper under the wiper when returning to the car usually does not bode well.

Just park the car for a moment and the ticket is there.

In most cases, resistance is futile because, as a rule, there is a violation of the road traffic regulations.

But police officers are also human and make mistakes - as happened with David Schumacher, the son of Ralf Schumacher and nephew of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher.

The DTM driver tells of a curious incident in his Instagram story.

David Schumacher gets a ticket for missing an environmental badge - with an electric car

Schumacher films his car, a Hyundai, on the side of the road in Cologne.

He finds a ticket with the "Environmental Zone" logo printed on it.

The accusation is clear: Schumacher is traveling in downtown Cologne without the required environmental badge.

In many German cities, entry for combustion cars without the green sticker with the "4" is not allowed.

The racing driver is very surprised about the ticket.

There is actually no sticker on his windshield, but his Hyundai doesn't have a combustion engine either.

It is an emission-free electric car.

Apparently the police officer assumed it was a normal petrol or diesel engine and pulled out the ticket.

David Schumacher at a loss after parking tickets: "Don't know why"

"I don't know why," Schumacher puzzles, showing the inscription "electric" on the back of the car and announcing that he will not pay the fine.

The video does not show whether Schumacher's driving vehicle had an "E" at the end of the license plate, which would have made the officer's work easier.

However, the addition is not mandatory.

The proof: David Schumacher drives an electric car.

In terms of his racing career, the 20-year-old is in a difficult position.

Like his cousin Mick, who currently has to worry about his cockpit, he also wants to get into Formula 1. However, he needs a cockpit in Formula 3 or Formula 2 for this. And that, in turn, is hardly possible without sponsors, as he explained a few weeks ago .

"The FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 are doing a really bad job there," he criticized.

He currently drives in the DTM for the Winward Racing team.

He was "not sure if the car will help me learn something for single-seater racing," said Schumacher.
