A week after the spectacular last-minute defeat against Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund has clearly improved in form.

Victory at Hertha BSC in Berlin was rarely really at risk.

BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel had to be on the ball early on against Jonjoe Kenny, whose deflected shot became dangerous (4th).

Dortmund then took over the command.

Kenny deflected a shot from Marco Reus off the crossbar for Hertha (15') and Salih Özcan hit the post (20').

Then Borussia showed that they gradually know how to use their recently weak storm accession Anthony Modeste: First, the representative of cancer patient Sébastien Haller failed at Hertha goalkeeper Oliver Christensen (22nd), then Modeste made another attempt just wide (25th). .

Modeste then placed a high cross from Özcan, who was also signed from Cologne in the summer, to take the lead (32'), Modeste celebrated his debut goal in black and yellow with a hug for coach Edin Terzić.

BVB still had the better chances, but Karim Adeyemi (58th) among others failed to extend the lead.

So Hertha stayed within reach of a point win until the end.

Substitute Marco Richter, who had the best chance of equalizing, failed after hitting the crossbar in his comeback after suffering from testicular cancer (79').

BVB keeper Kobel steered the ball there with his fingertips.

A good home game for FC Schalke 04 for a long time, a curious handball from Union defender Robin Knoche – and yet the three points go to Berlin: In Gelsenkirchen, a lot went to the guests’ taste.

It all started in the 6th minute: after a corner kick from the right, Danilho Doekhi headed the ball back into the middle at the far post.

The co-production of the summer newcomers refined Morthen Thorsby, who scored with the back of the head.

Schalke was only partially inferior, had far more possession and a few chances.

Simon Terodde (8th) and Malick Thiaw (10th) missed the quick reply.

Then Knoche helped, who held the ball up with his arm in the air and caused a penalty.

After Terodde's penalty miss last week, Marius Bülter grabbed the ball and converted safely (31st).

Schalke's hope didn't last long.

Sheraldo Becker with a deflected shot (36') and Janek Haberer, whose powerful shot in the middle for Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow was seen late and couldn't be parried (45' + 2), increased before the break.

Immediately after the restart, Becker made everything clear again (46th).

Substitute Sven Michel managed a brace in the closing stages (87'/90').

By Saturday night's Bayern Munich game, Union has jumped to the top of the table thanks to ten points in four games.

Niko Kovač has to wait for his first Bundesliga win with VfL.

For his Wolfsburg, the game started with an unfortunate hand penalty.

Maxence Lacroix tried to clear a Dani Olmo cross with a header, but his positioning was extremely awkward and the ball flew into his arm.

Leipzig's top star Christopher Nkunku converted the penalty kick into the left corner (5th).

The lead gave the previously winless Leipzigers security - and ten minutes later Olmo had a great chance to make it 2-0, but his shot from about ten meters went just wide of the goal.

Wolfsburg became more active in the second half, in this phase Max Kruse, who was so dissatisfied recently, was more noticeable, who was in the starting XI for the first time this season and had a shot in the 58th minute.

Leipzig was lucky that the equalizer didn't come up - and in the end they were able to celebrate Nkunku's 2-0 lead after a pass from Timo Werner (90').

With five points and the jump into the middle of the league, the Saxons can breathe deeply.

Eliminated in the DFB Cup, zero points in the league: Leverkusen were under pressure in Mainz – and that's where the liberation should succeed.

It didn't start that well, the opponent was a bit more aggressive.

Then Mainz striker Jonathan Burkardt also scored, but into his own goal.

At a corner kick, he unhappily deflected a shot from Exequiel Palacios into the net (29').

Mainz also helped with the 0:2 when the back team let Moussa Diaby in the center circle too easily.

After a solo run, the Frenchman pushed the ball across to his teammate Jeremie Frimpong, who ran with him and had a clear shot and little trouble (39').

Shortly thereafter, Frimpong increased again to 3:0 (41st).

Mainz, who started the season well with seven points, didn't give up the game afterwards and tried to keep up the pressure.

From the 77th minute, Leverkusen were outnumbered after Piero Hincapié was sent off with a yellow card.

But the turnaround against the team of Bayer coach Gerardo Seoane did not succeed.

With Mitchel Bakker, another red sinner at Leverkusen was added in injury time.

With their third win of the season, Hoffenheim have consolidated their place among the current top clubs in the league.

The game against FC Augsburg had little to offer for a long time, but the wait should be worth it.

TSG professional Dennis Geiger refined a combination over several stations with a direct acceptance into the left corner of the goal (39th).

The earlier filing by Robert Skov was already worth seeing.

This one highlight was enough for the otherwise unconvincing Hoffenheimers.

Augsburg is currently twelfth with three points.
