Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee announced today (Saturday) that he will come to Israel for the first time to participate in the state ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Munich massacre.

Bach will arrive in Israel on September 19 and stay in Tel Aviv for two and a half days. In addition to his participation in the state memorial ceremony, he is scheduled to visit Yad Vashem to be the guest of President Herzog at the President's House, visit the Church of the Sepulcher, the Olympic Experience Museum in Tel Aviv, and even meet representatives of her families. and Israeli Olympic athletes

In doing so, President Thomas Bach accepted the invitation presented to him by the chairman of the Israeli Olympic Committee, in January of this year, at the Beijing Winter Games to participate as a guest of honor in the state ceremony to be held on September 21 in Israel in Tel Aviv.

The last time Bach visited Israel was 12 years ago in October 2010.
