The cup cracker was followed a few days later by the duel in the district league: FC Penzberg met TSV Murnau.

This time the decision was made by penalty.

Penzberg – When plane crashes, the American Malcolm Gladwell writes in his book "Outliers", it is never a single mistake that leads to the catastrophe, but always a chain of six, seven, eight events that add up.

You had to think about that at 1. FC Penzberg in this wrong and unfortunate final phase against TSV Murnau, in these dark moments between minutes 90 and 95, which caused the 0:1 (0:0) defeat in the district league derby.

Here is the chronology of the horror: Goalkeeper Daniel Baltzer injured his foot and finger during his strongest save.

Substitute Korbinian Neumaier has to go onto the field without being warmed up.

30 seconds later, Ardian Geci puts colleague Maximilian Panholzer under pressure with a ricochet.

Murnau's Elias Richter catches the ball and serves Bastian Adelwart.

Fazlican Verep fouls him hard, but also in such a way that the ball rolls on to Andreas Schneeweiß in the penalty area.

Sepp Siegert injures himself while trying to slide his former team-mate and causes a penalty.

Goalkeeper Neumaier knows about Georg Kutter's favorite corner (bottom right), but in the end he is about ten centimeters short of keeping the ball.

Log end.

Simon Ollert thought of a lot about this crash in injury time.

"Our heads weren't there anymore, we were already at the final whistle." It didn't take long to research the causes.

Coach Ollert joked that they are no longer the youngest in Penzberg – at least compared to TSV.

It was clear and noticeable that the young crowd of guests had a few more reserves after two extremely intense derbies in four days.

Maximilian Panholzer and Maximilian Kalus noticed the strain.

And yet "everyone stuck with it until the end," says Ollert.

If this blackout hadn't happened at the end, both teams would have taken a point.

That would have been deserved after the game shares, even if the Murnauer point to a significant increase in chances.

Bastian Adelwart alone missed twice completely freely in front of Baltzer,

Georg Kutter headed the ball to the crossbar after a free kick.

Scenes in which Ollert held his breath.

On the other hand, Penzberg looked like the slightly more mature team.

The hosts skilfully broke free from the grip of TSV, which always tried to attack aggressively.

Fazlican Verep, equipped with the captain's armband and great will, cleared everything and everyone in front of goal.

Aside from keeper Baltzer, he stood out as by far the best man on the pitch.

Murnau had chances when Penzberger made a mistake.

"It was a great football game," said coach Simon Ollert.

Luckily for Penzberger, the only thing missing was Franz Huber, "the classic striker", as the coach says.

But he was asked at a wedding.

Franz was "painfully missed," Ollert interjected.

Finally, from Penzberg's point of view, the topic of "referees" had to be addressed.

What a surprise, the team around Felix Albegger received top marks from the Murnauer team.

Coach Sven Teichmann praised the official for his “brave decisions”: twice no penalty (once at Murnau, once at Penzberg), a line with a lot of body contact and the advantage in the decisive scene at the end.

Simon Ollert, on the other hand, was absent from the referee.

"He hid himself a bit." And the Penzbergers weren't entirely wrong: TSV Murnau was left with the necessary stupidity for some decisions this time.
