VfB announced in advance that Sasa Kalajdzic asked not to be considered for the game against FC Köln.

Stuttgart's coach Matarazzo complied with this wish.

Instead of Kalajdzic, who is about to change, newcomer Luca Pfeiffer will start.

As in the victory in the Europa Conference League qualifier, Florian Dietz stormed for the Cologne team.

Sasa Kalajdzic no longer in the squad of VfB Stuttgart

Sasa Kalajdzic did not take part in VfB Stuttgart's final training session on Saturday (27 August) and, in agreement with coach Matarazzo, will not be in the squad against Cologne.

Thus, a change of the Austrian is probably imminent.

Nikolas Nartey is missing from VfB Stuttgart due to a torn muscle fibre

Nikolas Nartey, who tore a muscle fiber in his rear right thigh during VfB's win in the friendly against FC St. Gallen on Wednesday, is not there.

The midfielder will be out for two to three weeks.

Tiago Tomas, who was in bed with tonsillitis and fever during the week, will also be absent.

So far, the attacker has not trained with the team again.

Tanguy Coulibaly, meanwhile, is in advanced training and is expected to take part in team training next week.
