"Our current top form brings us very little": Thomas Müller speaks plainly

Thomas Müller also sees a danger in this - and makes an announcement to his teammates.

Munich – The start of the season at FC Bayern Munich is impressive.

Ten points after four games, leaders, plus 16 goals.

Above all, the offensive around Thomas Müller is in impressive early form these days and weeks.

The question already arises: Who should stop this FC Bayern?

If Müller has his way, the brakes on euphoria should be pulled first.

After all, Bayern haven't achieved anything yet.

And: The 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend put the first small damper on the German record champions.

Promptly came the questions about Robert Lewandowski.

Müller was asked whether the striker who had migrated to FC Barcelona was missing.

The Bayern striker reacted annoyed to the Lewandowski question, and there was no answer.

And yet Thomas Müller knows how quickly the mood can change.

"We also know that the finals and everything that goes with them will only be played in six months, three quarters of a year.

That's why our current top form doesn't bring us much towards the Champions League victory," explained the 32-year-old on the sidelines of the lederhosen photo shoot with Paulaner at Nockherberg.

Therefore, it is now a matter of "carrying this form and this way of playing football through the whole year".

The Bayern squad has “great characters, great players and are currently performing great, that’s for sure.

But we all know how quickly things can change in football.

That's why we have to deliver, deliver and deliver again," emphasized Müller.

Before the Champions League takes on Inter Milan, FC Barcelona and Viktoria Pilsen, FC Bayern will have to face third division team Viktoria Köln in the cup (31 August, 8:46 p.m.).

"After two years of not having anything to do with winning the cup, we definitely want to get back to the final," Müller said of the declared goal.

Last season it was over for FC Bayern after a 5-0 loss to Gladbach in the second round of the cup.

In the premier class, too, Bayern have compensation in mind after the quarter-final defeat against FC Villarreal.

Thomas Müller is particularly looking forward to Barca and Lewandowski.
