My father had forbidden my big brother Hubert, who sailed a lot with Jean Le Cam (1), to race alone, which he considered too dangerous.
But when I announced that I would be sailing single-handed, I was not banned.

has undoubtedly been a career accelerator.
Every time someone comes to ask me how to prepare for the Vendée Globe, I tell them:
“you are going to do the Solitaire du Figaro”
.
The one-design boats have allowed greater participation and enhanced the talent of sailors.
For me, it's a must for exercise, much tougher than the Vendée Globe on the sporting aspect.
During the stopover in Royan, I will be on my catamaran to talk about the race, beyond the spectacle, how one works on a boat, thirty-five years of my life.
