The two German internationals from FC Bayern could be seen on social media in a spicy video published by musician Pajel.
In the leaked clip, several people wore DFB shirts with previously unknown designs.
It quickly became clear: these can only be the new jerseys of the national team.
The association has now confirmed the speculation and officially presented the jerseys.

On Monday morning the time had come, the German Football Association presented the new home and away jerseys, which are also to be used at this year's World Cup in Qatar.
In addition to the classic white and black home jersey, the national team will also wear a modern red and black away jersey.
Müller and Gnabry, who were seen in the video leak, posed with the new game clothing on the homepage.

Offensive player Serge Gnabry was enthusiastic about the new designs of the supplier Adidas on the association's homepage: "I like the new home jersey very much.
The color combination harmonises, it will be an honor to play for Germany at the World Cup in this jersey,” said the native of Stuttgart.
A novelty for Germany: Uniform DFB jersey for the men's and women's national teams
The new jersey line also brings with it a major innovation, with the home jersey being worn by both the men's and women's national teams.

The new white and black shirt is to be worn for the first time next Saturday at the women's World Cup qualifier in Turkey.
The men will probably not celebrate their jersey premiere until the next Nations League game on September 23 against Hungary.
The white jersey with the wide vertical black stripe in the middle, which is supposed to be reminiscent of the first Germany jerseys from 1908, is also a source of anticipation for the European runners-up.
"That's a cool and strong sign," said national player and Bayern professional Lina Magull.
"This jersey symbolizes that we all stand for one football, live the same values together and have one goal.
We want to be successful and role models for the many girls and boys who love this sport as much as we do," the 28-year-old continued on the association's website.
The women's team will also use the new jersey at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
DFB teams: The away jerseys remain different - women continue to wear green
In contrast to the common home jersey, the away jerseys for men and women remain different.
While the team of national coach Hansi Flick can look forward to their red outfit, the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg stays with their mint green away kit.
