Sadio Mané renounces a Bavarian tradition at the Lederhosen shoot - he is not the only one

He likes lederhosen, but Sadio Mané has to do without a Bavarian tradition for the FC Bayern shoot.

The reasons are obvious.

Munich – Sadio Mané not only decorates the Bayern jersey, but also the leather pants immensely.

Just in time for the first English week, traditions are cultivated at FC Bayern Munich.

After all, the Oktoberfest is just around the corner.

And as is tradition in Bavaria, there is a lederhosen shoot at Paulaner am Nockherberg.

In focus: the newcomers to the Bayern squad.

So too Mane.

However, the traditional costume is not entirely unknown to the Senegalese.

“I know this tradition from my time in Salzburg.

I enjoy wearing lederhosen because I'm generally very interested in different cultures and their traditions," he explained on the sidelines of the shoot.

So he still has the costume from eight years ago.

Why Sadio Mané renounced a Bayern tradition

The new signing from Liverpool FC had to do without a Bayern tradition.

While the colleagues in the team photo toasted with the beer glass, Mané only raised his thumb.

The reason: Mané doesn't drink alcohol and is a devout Muslim.

The same applies to Ajax newcomer Nazar Mazraoui.

He also refrained from toasting.

Bavaria's supervisory board Uli Hoeneß also welcomes the fact that Mané does not drink alcohol.

He recently cheered at Sport Bild: "The Sadio is awesome anyway.

[...] He doesn't drink alcohol, his whole life consists of football.

It's a dream for the team and for our public image."

Mané raves about FC Bayern: "I'm very lucky"

The promised one also seems to feel very comfortable in Munich.

On the fringes of the shoot, Mané raved about FC Bayern and the family environment.

"It feels like I've been here for a long, long time.

It's never easy when you change clubs.

But I'm lucky to be here at this big club," he said, adding: "Wow!

How I was received here.

I want to give something back.”

Mané will soon have the opportunity to do so in the Champions League.

There, FC Bayern meets FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, among others.

"We are ready for these big games," emphasized the 30-year-old winger.

His motto: "If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.
