Türkgücü Munich has landed a transfer cracker with Caiuby.
But now the Brazilian is not allowed to play.
An ugly scenario for those responsible.
Munich - "Caiuby trains with us, his quality is undisputed," reports Türkgücü coach Alper Kayabunar.
The ex-professional was exactly the player he had wanted for the squad.
A seasoned attacker with experience.
However, he is now sitting in the stands.
Still no work permit for Caiuby - Türkgücü squad planner Plesche: "Currently questioning myself"
The work permit is missing, confirms Türkgücü's sporting director Roman Plesche.
Why is it taking so long?
"We're not sure ourselves at the moment," he admits.
Caiuby (34) has already played in Germany (most recently in 2021 at FC Ingolstadt).
However, work permits are only ever issued for a limited period of time, which is why they had to be applied for again, explains Plesche.
But: "It is now much more difficult than expected," he complains, "the situation is not nice for us.
Caiuby would have helped us a lot, especially in the last few games.” It is unclear when the former Bundesliga professional will make his regional league debut.
"It's our turn at the moment," says Plesche, "hopefully it will work out in the next few days, but it won't work against Eichstätt."
Türkgücü Munich is missing the clip: Kayabunar misses Caiuby - and several injuries
"Against Pipinsried we played our worst game so far," Alper Kayabunar recaps, "but you could see there too: We had good possession of the ball, but we just didn't have the power up front.
Caiuby would help us a lot.
It would be a treat if he could play at the weekend.
But as a coach, I only deal with what I can influence.”
Kayabunar's main hope right now is that his team's injury woes will come to an end.
Kazuki Date, Kaan Aygün and Fabio Meikis are injured.
After all, goalscorer Maximilian Berwein is already training again after breaking his coccyx.
Kayabunar is already looking forward to his comeback.
