The SC Percha has a new boss: Andreas Denk takes over his second chairmanship.

He was able to allay the initial concerns of some members.

Percha – It was a difficult year for SC Percha.

In April, the sports club had to say goodbye to its long-standing 1st chairman Jürgen Effenberger, who died unexpectedly.

It was also a severe blow for Andreas Denk.

"Jürgen was my mentor," said the 39-year-old, who has headed the Starnberg Carnival Society Perchalla for several years, on Friday evening at the SC Percha annual meeting.

"He was always at my side with advice and action," says Denk.

That's why the father, who lives in Wangen, felt obliged to follow in Effenberger's footsteps: Denk has been the first chairman of SC Percha since Friday.

"I want to continue Jürgen's work, I promised that at the grave," said Denk in touchingly open words.

At the annual meeting he was able to allay the concerns of some members.

Members of the football department had feared a possible merger of SC Percha with Perchalla.

Denk made it clear: "I will strictly separate the two tasks, I can promise that." The 39-year-old was elected unanimously by the 41 voting members present.

"If there's a problem, call me.

Only problems that are openly addressed can be solved,” appealed the new chairman, whose son plays football in the G youth group of the SCP.

Angelika Effenberger played a decisive role in Denk's choice.

The daughter of Jürgen Effenberger and the heart and soul of the club has been active for both Percha clubs for many years.

"The SC Percha will not have any disadvantages as a result," said the unanimously re-elected 1st Treasurer of the SCP, calming the spirits.

SC Percha: Exciting choice of 1st Secretary

The choice of the first secretary was more exciting.

Incumbent Dietrich von Grolman narrowly defeated challenger Johannes Mader.

Nevertheless, there was also good news for Mader, the tenant of the club restaurant.

“The clubhouse is the heart of the club.

The interior renovation measures have borne fruit, but there is still a lot to do,” said Denk.

The outdoor area also needs to be renovated, and increasing the capacity through an extension could attract even more guests.

Extended range of sports at SC Percha: darts are new to the programme

Meanwhile, the 336 members can look forward to an extensive range of sports.

Since the beginning of 2022 darts have been practiced at SC Percha.

Practice evenings take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. and Sundays from 4 p.m.

In Percha there are other unusual sports for a classic club: fencing and motor sports are also on offer.

Gymnastics and Zumba are particularly popular with women.

Soccer department manager Thomas Fersch was particularly pleased about the championship of the B-Juniors.

"That hasn't been the case for a long time," he said.

Denk also praised the success.

"Youth work must always be in the foreground," he clarified.

"That's the only way a club can survive."
