Intensive training is being conducted by the men's football team at Al Wathba Club, in preparation for participating in the Premier League, which will start next Friday.
In statements to SANA, the club’s vice president, Najeeb Al-Farra, said that the team had finished its technical and physical preparations to enter the Premier League, as its participation in the Republic Cup revealed the players’ strengths and weaknesses, pointing out that the club had contracted with a number of young players to compensate for the shortage in the team’s ranks, stressing at the same time. The team coach achieved a good combination of the current players and the available capabilities.
Al-Farra added that the chances of his team, which managed to achieve the runner-up position in the past two seasons, are good in occupying an advanced position on the ranking ladder, as he possesses the personality of the hero, in addition to the tactical experience of coach Firas Moasas, noting the role of the public in supporting the team last seasons and the current season.
In turn, coach Moasas pointed to the preparations that preceded the league, including the friendly match with Jableh, in which all players were involved, adding that the first match in the league, scheduled with Al-Talia, is the most difficult. He has his strengths to stop them and exploit their weaknesses to get the three points and thus enter the league with high spirits.
Moasas revealed that the competition for the current year’s league title is different from the past seasons, as there are more than five competing teams, namely Al-Jaish, Al-Fatwa, Al-Ittihad, Al-Wathba, Jableh and Tishreen, while the competition was limited to last season between Tishreen and Al-Wathba, explaining the importance of technical and administrative stability in achieving positive results that are satisfactory and satisfy everyone’s ambition. .
