Basketball European Championship 2022: schedule, groups, results

With a delay of one year, the European Basketball Championship will take place on September 1st. Germany organizes the tournament with three other countries. Everything you need to know about the EM can be found here.

Basketball European Championship 2022

The 41st European Basketball Championship will be held in four countries from September 1st to 18th, 2022.

One preliminary round each will be played in Germany (Berlin and Cologne), Georgia (Tbilisi), Italy (Milan) and the Czech Republic (Prague), the knockout round will take place in Berlin.

The tournament was originally supposed to take place last year, but then fell victim to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which were also postponed to a new date due to the corona pandemic.

A total of 24 countries are taking part in the European Championship, Germany, as co-hosts in Group B, meets the strong French, Slovenians and Lithuanians, among others.

The top four nations of each group qualify for the round of 16, two teams per group are eliminated.

The basketball championship on TV

MagentaSport has secured the broadcasting rights for the games of the German national team.

It is not yet clear whether games will also run on ARD and ZDF.
