Ligue 1: the feat of Troyes in Monaco, Lyon continues

2022-08-31T19:28:06.669Z

Estac achieved the performance of the first half of the 5th day by winning in the Principality (2-4) while the Lyonnais had Auxerre (2-1).

Monaco fell back into their ways on Wednesday evening at the Stade Louis-II and, ten against eleven, took four goals against Troyes, who took advantage of the opposing defensive largesse to win (4-2), on the fifth day of the L1.

After taking four against Lens (1-4) on the third day, Monaco and their goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, once again too insecure, took as many against a less strong Troyes team, but with a goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon capable of significant displays.

If Monaco have lost again, it is certainly not the sole fault of their goalkeeper.

Because his attacking players Takumi Minamino and Wissam Ben Yedder were too non-existent to hope to win with them.

Finally, the ASM also shot itself in the foot.

For its third L1 match at home, the Principality team also finished 10 against 11 for the third time. Troyes logically took advantage of all these factors and now has six points, one more than its opponent.

However, everything had started well for the Monegasques, in the dampness of the end of summer in a stadium deserted by holidaymakers.

The Riviera team, revamped compared to the one which had been solid at the Parc des Princes (1-1) on Sunday, presented itself with five new members, including central defender Malang Sarr, for a first, and Japanese midfielder Minamino , for another chance to show off.

After a Trojan counter let a shiver pass (6th), demonstrating the Monegasque imbalance, Guillermo Maripan opened the scoring, with a header from a corner from Minamino (1-0, 10th).

This set piece was the only time we caught a glimpse of the Japanese international, systematically beaten in duels.

Gallon better than Nübel

If, on a new Trojan counter, Nübel made his only save, in front of Renaud Ripart, alone at the far post (18th), on the corner, Mr. Ruddy Buquet was called by his colleagues from the video assistance to watch a Maripan's potential foul on Mama Baldé.

Result: penalty, converted by Florian Tardieu and warning for Maripan (22nd).

Just before the break, the latter was excluded after having dismissed Tardieu with an arm in the face.

And as that was not enough, Wilson Odobert took advantage of Monaco's disbelief to allow Bruno Irles' men to lead at the break (2-1, 45th + 3).

Returning from the locker room, Baldé's volley (1-3, 48th) in an area where Nübel never won gave the Monegasques too heavy a handicap, with Badiashile, Golovin and Aguilar as new entrants.

For half an hour, Clement's men pushed.

Youssouf Fofana's goal (2-3, 63rd) was not enough.

Gallon was good ahead of Golovin (54th), Camara (60th, 63rd), Badiashile (87th).

And then Yoann Salmier took advantage of an overcrowded area to amplify the score (2-4, 78th) and plunge Monaco into crisis.

Lyon is relaunching

Held in check last week in Reims (1-1), OL took advantage of the visit of the promoted from Auxerre to Groupama stadium to return to success (2-1), the third of the season.

Peter Bosz's troops remain at the gates of the podium (4th) and the Dutch technician, who is still struggling to convince more than a year after his arrival, is gaining a little peace of mind.

The departure to West Ham of the master to play Lucas Paqueta has in any case not destabilized the Rhodaniens, in search of redemption after a not very glorious previous exercise (8th, no European qualification).

Lyon have even already found a new Brazilian hero, Tetê, who scored his 4th goal in the Championship, the Cameroonian Karl Toko Ekambi doubling the lead for Lyon.

Montpellier goes on

Boosted in Brest on Sunday (7-0), Montpellier did not reproduce the same attacking festival at La Mosson against the red lantern Ajaccio (2-0) but held the shock in a meeting which could have escaped him.

The two teams indeed played the 2nd half at 10 against 10 after the red cards addressed to the Ajaccien striker Romain Hamouma (37th), for the 2nd time of the season, and to the Hérault goalkeeper Jonas Omlin (45th).

5th in the standings, Montpellier and their coach Olivier Dall'Oglio continue to dispel doubts after months of poor results.

Reims surprised Angers at home (2-4) while Strasbourg and Nantes parted ways (1-1).
