This is a first blow for Racing 92 at the start of the season.
The three-quarter center Gaël Fickou, injured, will be absent for four to five weeks, the Hauts-de-Seine club said on Tuesday, a few days before the resumption of the Top 14.
The 28-year-old player, who is among the executives of the XV of France (71 selections), was hit in the right leg during the first period of a preparation match lost by the Racingmen against Brive (20-15), Friday in the Dordogne.
A sprained ankle and knee
He finally suffers from a sprained right ankle and right knee.
The first observations made after its release could suggest a longer unavailability for Gaël Fickou, who should therefore ultimately miss about a month of competition.
He will miss the start of the season for his club, and could return in early October.
The French international will not participate in the reception of the last unfortunate finalist of the Top 14, Castres, this Saturday at the Paris La Défense Arena, at the opening of the championship at 3 p.m.
Racing 92 must then face Bayonne, Lyon, Toulouse and La Rochelle in the coming weeks.
