Thomas Müller celebrates his 632nd appearance for FC Bayern and draws level with Oliver Kahn.
Now he's chasing an old record.
Cologne/Munich – The start in the Bundesliga was successful, in the away game against Victoria Cologne Thomas Müller and FC Bayern Munich also had to do better in the DFB Cup.
The goal is clear: After two years of abstinence, the record champions want to reach the final again.
With a 5-0 win in the first round, Müller and Co. laid the foundation.
For Thomas Müller, however, the game also had a special, personal touch.
For the Munich veteran it was the 632nd appearance for the Reds.
In the current Bayern squad, he occupies the top spot by far.
But this number is also impressive overall.
Thomas Müller draws level with Oliver Kahn in second place among FC Bayern's record players
As a result, Müller has drawn level with Oliver Kahn.
Together with the current CEO, he now occupies second place in the ranking of the most competitive games for FC Bayern. Only Sepp Maier has made more games for the record champions.
The former goalkeeper has 702 appearances.
But Thomas Müller has even more plans.
The offensive player commented on Kahn's congratulations on Twitter: "Thanks for the congratulations, Oliver Kahn.
But nobody knows any better, it just keeps going.” If the attacker continues like this, Maier's record will also fall – and Müller will be crowned FC Bayern's record player.
In any case, it seems inconceivable that the Weilheimer would ever leave FC Bayern – even for himself. He therefore clearly denied a fan’s question about Müller’s move to Arsenal.
Nevertheless, Müller raved about two Premiere League clubs.
