Recently, Al-Jaish and Al-Wehda teams have witnessed intensive preparations for the new season of the 2022-2023 Premier League, and each of them aspires to achieve the title that Tishreen has monopolized for the past three seasons.
Al-Wahda and Al-Jaish will start their Premier League campaign on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The first will meet with Al-Jazira at Al-Jalaa Stadium in Damascus, while the second will meet Al-Majd on the next day at the same stadium as well.
The coaching staff of the Al-Wahda team, led by coach Ziad Shaabo, seeks to provide remarkable performance, achieve positive results, and be on the line of competition between the front teams, in order to reach the greatest ambition, which is the competition for the title. during the upcoming matches.
Four friendly matches played by Al-Wahda during the preparation period that it conducted recently, where the army met and lost to it with a goal of two, and the Syrian youth team met and lost to it with a goal without a response and played with Al-Fatwa and lost 1-3 and drew with Al-Karama negatively.
Al-Jaish also played four preparatory matches, meeting Al-Fatwa and winning 2-1, beating Jableh 1-0, drawing with Hattin 2-2 and beating Al-Wehda 2-1.
El-Jaish coach Hussein Afash expressed his confidence in the team's players to compete strongly in the upcoming matches, pointing out that the friendly matches that the team played during the preparation journey were good to determine the players' capabilities and discover the best way to enter the league matches.
Al-Jaish finished last season 2021-2022 in third place with 43 points, and Al-Wahda came in fourth place with 38 points, noting that Al-Wathba came in second place with 52 points after Tishreen, the leader and title holder.
Tomorrow, the first round of the Premier League will kick off, with Al-Talia meeting Al-Wathba at the municipal stadium in Hama, Al-Karama with Al-Basil Stadium in Homs, Al-Fatwa with Tishreen at Al-Jalaa Stadium in Damascus, and Hittin with Jableh at Al-Basel Stadium in Lattakia.
