The mother, Lorin, said that she managed to organize a minute's applause in the 14th minute and publicly asked the fans of both teams to share the moment and not ruin it in the shadow of the bitter rivalry.
She added that in that minute her son's picture will appear on the screen with the caption 14 Forever (freely translated as "Forever 14").
The grieving mother also said: "Lyal Abda will wear a shirt with Leon's picture under the game shirt. He will also organize a Celtic shirt for all the team players to sign."
Abda, 20, recently started his second season at Celtic.
On Sunday, he started for the first time this season in the league, when the champions defeated Dundee United 0:9 away.
The young Israeli scored a hat trick, scored another goal and was named the outstanding player.
