Sadio Mané sniffs the air of the cup – and is immediately successful

He has scored in every competition for FC Bayern.

Cologne/Munich - Three goals in four Bundesliga games, another goal in the Supercup: Sadio Mané's record so far is impressive - and it also seems to suit the new signing at FC Bayern Munich personally.

On Wednesday (August 31, 2022), however, another test was on the agenda: Viktoria Köln was waiting in the DFB Cup.

Although the Cologne team are only third-rate, the cup has its own laws, as is well known.

Again and again, compact defending teams can cause problems for offensive artists - of which the Bayern squad is quite peppered.

Even for Mané as Africa's footballer of the year, such a game is not a sure-fire success.

But Mané was also able to convince at his cup premiere.

The Senegalese national player demonstrated his willingness to run and set several offensive accents with his class.

After halftime, Mané was finally released by Kimmich and Gnabry and only had to push in.

In the end it was an unchallenged 5:0.

Sadio Mané has scored a goal in every competition in which he has played for FC Bayern.

The newcomer is therefore an important pillar for the record champions' offensive.

Together with Musiala, Mané Lewandowski could make people forget – and make Munich's attack more variable.

So it is not surprising that Mané is slowly becoming a fan favorite at FCB.
