The transfer window is closed.

How strong is the squad of third division leaders TSV 1860 Munich?

A balance sheet.

Munich – Deadline Day, the transfer window is closing.

At 6 p.m. there was a shift in the shaft, until then fans all over the country had to hope for last-minute newcomers or fear for players who might still be able to leave their favorite club.

Throughout the country?

Not in Giesing.

In mid-June, Günther Gorenzel, head of sports at TSV 1860, brought the ninth and last newcomer to Grünwalder Straße in Joseph Boyamba.

He completed a squad that - loosely based on the lion's anthem - showed on the first six match days: These lions are stronger than ever (in third division times)!

"The team has impressively demonstrated their potential in the past few weeks, despite the absences," Gorenzel was quoted as saying in a press release on Thursday.

We put the lions through the squad check.

TSV 1860: Hiller a secure backing - central defender Verlaat has already scored twice

Goal:

In the league comparison, Sixty is right at the bottom.

Keeper Marco Hiller (25) has been a safe support for years, there was no need for action in goal.

Julius Schmid (21) came from VfB Lübeck and is third behind Hiller and Tom Kretzschmar (23).

Not a big deal, but after György Székely's (27) retirement, it's a sensible reinforcement.

grade 2

Defence:

This probably stands out the most compared to last season.

With Stephan Salger (32), an experienced but also old and often too slow-acting central defender moved to the old home with 1. FC Köln II he should prevent behind.

Verlaat has already scored twice.

Next to him is the super talent Leandro Morgalla (17), something like the nine and a half new signings, confirming his outstanding form from the late second half of the last season.

Christopher Lannert (24), who came from SC Verl, replaced Kevin Goden on the outside, who wants to try his luck with the second team of TSV (our newspaper reported).

Lannert, Morgalla, Verlaat and (currently absent) Philipp Steinhart (30) form a back four that is unparalleled in the league.

No defense is that good.

Note 1

TSV 1860: Rieder is the leading lion in midfield - goal scorer Bär will not return until November at the earliest

Midfield:

A lot happened here too.

Dennis Dressel (23, Hansa Rostock), Richard Neudecker (25, Saarbrücken) and Keanu Staude (25, without a club) fled.

Gorenzel brought in Tim Rieder (28, ex-Türkgücü) in mid-May, followed a little later by Martin Kobylanski (28) from Braunschweig and the aforementioned Boyamba (26) from Mannheim.

And each of them has kept what they promised to date: Rieder is the clear leading lion on the six, who is not above setting an example defensively by toughness in a duel.

Kobylanski takes over the creative part on the eight, Boyamba also fills this position part-time.

The other half of his playing time, he causes a stir on the right wing, as desired.

Together with captain Stefan Lex (32) on the left, this results in a second row that can definitely be placed in the top 5 of the 3rd division.

Grade 2+

Striker:

The position where action was most likely to be needed.

While Tim Linsbichler (22) left, Marcel Bär (30) remained the top scorer from last season, and Fynn Lakenmacher (19) from Havelse and Meris Skenderovic (24) from Schweinfurt were also brought in.

But then Bär was injured, and the other two have replaced him ever since.

Lakenmacher does his job well, Skenderovic passable.

How long that goes well is another question.

Bear will not come back until November at the earliest.

Grade 3
