Gerson winning return
Strictly speaking, this was not his return.
Touched on the foot against FC Nantes on August 20 (2-1), Gerson found his way back to the lawns of Ligue 1 last Wednesday against Clermont Foot (1-0) entering the last quarter of an hour of play. This Saturday afternoon, against AJ Auxerre, the attacking midfielder however found a starting place, as during the first three days of the championship.
And the least we can say is that it did not disappoint.
Indeed, from the 8th minute of play, the ex-Flamengo player opened the scoring by perfectly following a strike from Cengiz Ünder repelled by the right post of Benoît Costil, thus putting his team on the right track.
He came out on time without hiding his displeasure.
We should see him again on the pitch on Wednesday against Tottenham,

Alexis Sanchez pulls herself together
His performance against Clermont Foot last Wednesday was not flamboyant with, among other things, a missed penalty.
This Saturday afternoon, Alexis Sanchez, a substitute at the start of the match, managed to stand out in just half an hour of play. a counter-attack initiated by Amine Harit and Mattéo Guendouzi to score the break goal with a flat right foot.
An achievement that should do him good as the first day of the group stage of the Champions League looms.
Sead Kolasinac responds
Positioned on the left side of the three-man defence, Sead Kolasinac
particularly stood out on the lawn of the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps.
Strong in duels, intelligent in reading the game and enterprising with the ball, the Bosnian delivered a full performance, allowing his team not to concede a goal for the third game in a row.
There is no doubt that Igor Tudor was convinced by his performance in this position.

flops
AJ Auxerre too little enterprising
Known for their fun and attacking game, AJ Auxerre failed to live up to expectations for much of the game.
Certainly, the Burgundians faced Olympique de Marseille, a team in form and aiming for the podium, but we could legitimately expect better given their qualities.
Jean-Marc Furlan's men did not exist on the ball in the first half, not worrying Pau Lopez.
On the other hand, coming back from the break with new intentions and more aggressiveness, the Auxerrois managed for a good quarter of an hour to be dangerous and give Igor Tudor a cold sweat, with in particular Gauthier Hein (61st) and Paul Joly (66th).
Unfortunately for them, they did not manage to materialize this good passage.
Could they have hoped for another result with the same state of mind throughout the meeting?
Could they?
These are questions that will remain unanswered.

Jonathan Clauss inside
Established as a left piston, to leave the side to Issa Kaboré, Jonathan Clauss was not as flamboyant as usual.
If he put the same intensity as usual, the tricolor international was too hesitant and too imprecise in the last thirty meters;
in particular because he often preferred to come back on his right foot, his strong foot, rather than play in first intention with the left foot.
He was replaced at the break by Nuno Tavares, Igor Tudor wishing to rotate with the sequence of matches.
