Maccabi Tel Aviv announced today (Sunday) its agreement with PSV Eindhoven regarding the transfer of defender Derrick Lucassen, who signed for two years in the yellow ranks after successfully passing the medical tests.
The 27-year-old Lucassen, who will wear shirt number 25, told the club's official website after signing the contract: "I am happy and excited to join Maccabi Tel Aviv, against whom I have played before and I know it is a huge club in Israel, with a huge crowd. I spoke with Joris van Overeem And Eran Zahavi before the move, I got an excellent impression and I'm excited for a new chapter in my career."
The manager of the football department at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Barak Itzhaki, added: "We are happy that Derrick is joining us. He is a player with impressive data and abilities, has gained a lot of experience at the highest levels and is a significant addition to the team."

Lucassen, who developed in the youth academy of Alkmaar in the Netherlands, made his senior team debut at the age of 19 against Dordrecht in August 2014. Two seasons later, the defender played in Alkmaar's uniform against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the group stage of the Europa League at Netanya Stadium (0-0) and in Apas Stadium (1:2).
As you may remember, with the departures of Brendley Kovas and Stifa Fritza, Maccabi Tel Aviv had a place for two foreigners in the squad, one of which will now be filled by Lucassen.
Coach Vladan Ivić now wants to strengthen the attack squad.
