In the 4:3 win against Kirchheim, Geretsrieder showed "outstanding morale" as coach Daniel Dittmann emphasised

Geretsried – An entertaining game came to a happy end for the hosts in the Isarau Stadium.

It didn't look like it right after the game started.

Kirchheimer SC took the lead in the first minute.

A ball poorly defended by the hosts reached Luca Mauerer, who pushed in to make it 0:1 from TuS Geretsried's point of view.

"That was crazy," said TuS coach Daniel Dittmann, "but we weren't shocked."

Fabio Pech scores to make it 1-1

The hosts responded promptly: In the fifth minute, Fabio Pech defeated KSC goalkeeper Ivan Babic to equalize 1-1.

A little later the game was turned: Taso Karpouzidis brought the ball from the left in the direction of Kirchheimer Tor, where Jonas Kirschner got his toe on the ball and marked the 2-1 lead, which lasted until the break.

The interim conclusion was nevertheless quite growing.

The requirement to press consistently did not work quite as hoped, which was also due to the fact that the guests kept trying to free themselves with long balls.

"We allowed too many standards," Dittmann complained.

Voss shows strong parades

His team thanked goalkeeper Simon Voß, who had several opportunities to excel and experienced déjà vu in the 46th minute.

Referee Fabian Härle only released the ball a few seconds after the break before it was back in the Geretsried goal.

"Then the momentum shifted to the Kirchheim side," stated Dittmann.

But his team did not let themselves be deterred again, continued to play more or less purposefully forward and positioned themselves skilfully at the right moment.

Fabio Pech took advantage of his Kirchheim opponent's body contact on the edge of the penalty area.

"He did it cleverly," commented the Geretsried coach on the penalty kick, which captain Sebastian Schrills confidently converted to a 3-2 lead.

Podunavac asserts itself powerfully

Now it was up to the guests to show a reaction.

In the 58th minute, Voß parried a shot from Kirchheim's Andrii Hert, a minute later he dived at the right moment when Alessandro Cazorla pulled away from the crowd.

When the KSC goalscorer had a free field of fire a little later after a cross pass, the TuS keeper was powerless.

"The morale of the team was outstanding," said Dittmann, satisfied that his team came back.

A shot from the KSC keeper was intercepted in the penalty area, the pass landed on substitute Fabijan Podunavac, who asserted himself powerfully and scored the goal to make it 4:3.
