Three weeks before the opening stroke of the WATERGEN OPEN tennis tournament of the ATP 250 series in Tel Aviv, "Israel Hayom" learned today (Monday) that only 2,500 spectators will be able to come and enjoy the big star Novak Djokovic on the main court.
As you may remember, it was only a month and a half ago that the tournament was decided on and its inclusion in the calendar, with the organizers working day and night recently to prepare it, but since the announcement of the arrival of the former number 1 tennis player in the world, there has been a huge demand for tickets.
According to the initial plan, in Pavilion 2 at the "Expo", which previously also hosted the European Judo, Gymnastics and Eurovision Championships, thousands of individual spectators will enter the main field, but for this the invitations of the VIPs, sponsors and others must be taken down.
In addition, field number 1 will include 300 seats, when two more training fields will be built, this is in addition to the construction of dressing rooms, rest rooms, a dining room for the players, and an honorable area.
But there is also good news.
Despite the current situation, the organizers are working with the "Expo" to enlarge the central field, but as of now the required approvals have not arrived, when everyone hopes that they will arrive in the next few days and after that it will be possible to open the sale of tickets.
Tomorrow (18:00) there will be another press conference of the organizers, where the tournament site will be inaugurated, the final list of tennis players will be presented and more details will be given.
