FC Bayern will start the Champions League against Inter Milan.

Before the duel in San Siro, memories come up for Thomas Müller.

Munich - If the anthem sounds in the Champions League, the season for FC Bayern Munich is just getting started.

"In a group phase like this, the opening game is simply very important for the feeling and the further course, so as not to come under pressure," explained Thomas Müller after the 1-1 draw against Union Berlin on Saturday.

FC Bayern celebrates the start at Inter Milan.

Then Müller also hopes “definitely for a better result”.

What was meant was the disappointing draw in Berlin.

Müller in particular seems to be pleased that Bayern's new premier class journey begins in San Siro in Milan.

The original Bavarian associates a childhood memory with the Milan cauldron, as he has now revealed.

Thomas Müller reports on childhood memories in San Siro

“I was allowed to play a few times at the San Siro.

It's no longer the most modern stadium, but I was there as a spectator as a child and I'm still very impressed by the story," Müller reported on Saturday and enthused: "If you've ever sat in the upper ring, you know what is up."

When it comes to Inter on Wednesday evening (9 p.m.), Müller should also be back in Bayern’s starting lineup.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann initially left the 32-year-old on the bench in the 1-1 draw against Union.

When asked about it by a reporter, Müller was initially speechless, but then emphasized: "You always like to play, but we have already emphasized that in the previous weeks: we are currently at such a high level of performance in the entire squad and are spoiled for choice up front .

We'll continue next week."

According to Thomas Müller, FC Bayern wants to “show everyone”

According to Müller, FC Bayern are looking for revenge after the unexpected quarter-final defeat by FC Villarreal last season.

"After the disappointing second half of last season, we want to show everyone," announced the Bayern striker.

First of all, the Bayern squad will now have to prove themselves against Inter Milan.

FCB's other group opponents are FC Barcelona with Robert Lewandowski and Viktoria Pilsen.
