The tennis elite gathered last week for an ITF tournament in Allershausen.
Players and those responsible were more than satisfied with the process.
Allershausen
- It was a great tennis week - and at the end of the men's world rankings tournament in Allershausen, more than 400 spectators celebrated a young Czech: Jakub Mensik had turned 17 during the week, played his first final on the professional tour and won it against the German Peter Heller with 7: 5, 3: 6 and 6: 1.
Mensik will now climb into the top 600 players in the world and is a candidate to play the US Open instead of the ITF Allershausen in a few years.
TSV chairman Henning: "The tournament brings a spirit of optimism and has a signal effect for the whole club"
After the tournament, which was worth $15,000 in prize money, the official of the world association ITF (International Tennis Federation) stated that it had been one of the easiest weeks in his 22 years as a supervisor.
TSV Allershausen organized the tournament perfectly.
There was also great praise from finalist Peter Heller for "the best places on the tour".
He thanked the audience and the TSV: "It's great that there are small clubs that organize tournaments like this." Young German tennis talents have suffered for years from the fact that there are fewer professional tournaments in this country where local players with wildcards play the great opportunity for a career advancement.
TSV chairman Dennis Henning was also happy after a week that was advertising for tennis and the whole club.
"I'm extremely satisfied - and our volunteers were amazing," he emphasized.
Significant: An hour and a half after the end of the tournament, Henning returned from the final meeting and was amazed to see that his helpers had already taken everything down.
"The tournament brings a spirit of optimism and has a signal effect for the whole club," said the club boss.
