Freising/Kitzbühel
– The International Kitzbühel Horn Mountain Road Run is one of the most well-known mountain runs in Austria.
In 2022 he went into the 44th round.
Top athletes from all over the world met in the winter sports resort to compete on the city's local mountain.
There were also three Freisingers who achieved top results in their age groups.
Mountain runners from Freising cause a sensation
Several hundred runners took part in the Kitzbühel Horn Mountain Road Run.
To reach the summit at 1,996 meters, the participants had to climb 1,234 meters in altitude, cover a distance of 12.9 kilometers and gradients of up to 25 percent.
And the ambitious mountain runners from Freising had reason to be happy at the end: Josef Vogler (SG Stadtwerke Freising) ran in the age group M 65 with a time of 1:34:32 hours in first place.
Peter Emmerling (SG Stadtwerke) took sixth place in the M 60, and Franz Kromka (DAV Freising) was highly satisfied with third place in the M 70 class.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
In countless serpentines to the summit
The run has been part of the prominent “Salomon Running Tour” racing series since 2009.
The Horn Run started at 9 a.m. in downtown Kitzbühel.
The route led in countless serpentines past the Alpenhaus to the summit of the local mountain.
